To all of the kind people who've been telling me for ages that I needed to start a travel or cupcake blog, this one's for you. For those who are new to my out-of-town and culinary adventures, welcome!

My home base is Philadelphia, PA, but I spend a lot of time traveling for business and pleasure. I've picked up lots of tips and tricks along the way and love sharing them, along with the must eats, sees, and dos for places near and far from here.

When I'm not on the road, I look for any excuse to spend time in my kitchen, baking treats (frequently, but not exclusively, cupcakes) for the friends and family I've missed while away. My approach is to perfect or adapt the recipes of others -- these days, culling the internet for the perfect recipe seems just as skillful as creating one yourself!

So, here we are... a space for travel highlights and tips and the recipes and baking they inspire. I imagine entries will be as diverse as the destinations themselves, but all will include distance traveled, photos, and the original recipe/source. I hope you'll use the comments section to share feedback and memories from your own journey in the kitchen and beyond.
